Time to pop that champagne & say farewell to 2021, and what a year it’s been! 🥂🍾✨
For us, the boom in demand for homegrown products saw the separation of our olive business early in the year, handing the baton over to @coolbardieolives who have taken this enterprise to another level. Another local family-run small business, we wish them all the best with their future endeavours.
We hosted a bunch of amazing weddings, & that all too familiar rollercoaster of postponements, restrictions & border closures made each one of those celebrations one hell of a party!
The trend of the picnic continued in 2021, & we were humbled by the incredible support of those who travelled far & wide to enjoy a takeaway menu from Emeraude @myrtille.bistro on our lawn. The modest picnic evolved into a year of sensational events, with a fantastic lineup of local musicians performing for between 200 to 600 guests at our Sunday Picnics.
Our gardens took out 1st place in the @toowoombacarnivalflowers Commercial Category, thanks to the very hardworking Ann, Ninian & John, bringing many visitors to our beautiful region.
We continued to collaborate with the wonderful team from Emeraude, hosting a number of successful events showcasing our region’s produce, including Mothers Day, Christmas In The Grove, and a fundraiser for @toowoomba_hospice_ in memory of a very dear friend of our industry 🌿
We’ve relaunched our on-site accommodation, Hillview Cottage, hosted birthdays, farewells, vow renewals & forums, throw in a few visits from cabinet ministers @di4bulimba and @markfurnermp & you’ve got yourself a pretty amazing 2021 🍾
We are so very proud of our small team & amazing vendors who we work alongside for all of these events, we have an amazing support network especially in the @highcountryhamlets community.
Special thanks to each & every one who has visited, stayed, returned, reviewed & supported. We would not be where we are at the end of another challenging year for hospitality without each one of you.

It’s our last day of wedding viewings for the year, before our dining space undergoes some exciting renovations.
The Shed once housed the machinery used to run the dairy at Bunnyconnellen (previously Hillview) and emulates rustic charm. The renovations will see this space seat 140 guests with space for an indoor dance floor 🕺🏻

It’s been humbling to watch this event grow from one evening hosting 60 guests in a drought stricken paddock in 2019 to hosting 320 guests over 4 sold out evenings.
Thank you to our lovely supporters who have attended each year, to all the new faces.
A special thanks to our wonderful team, Emeraude, family members and vendors who keep everything rolling smoothly and make these events the special experience that they are, no matter what Mother Nature throws our way!

That’s it for seated events from us for 2021, but stay tuned as we may have another picnic or two up our sleeves before the year is out 🤞🏼
