We welcome you to our home, Bunnyconnellen. As cattle and sheep producers west of Hughenden in North West Queensland for most of our working lives, we have always been passionate about the paddock to plate story. Our families have been in the pastoral industries for several generations and it is with great delight that we now have the opportunity to present a magnificent selection of hand crafted, wholesome Bunnyconnellen products to the public. Bunnyconnellen immediately captured our hearts as a beautifully peaceful and tranquil part of Australia, and we wish to extend an invitation to you to come and experience our part of the world. So please join us for some good wine and delicious food or simply a rejuvenating break in our “Studio” B&B, all nestled at the top of the Great Divide in the High Country Hamlets micro-region, North of Toowoomba.
Our philosophy at Bunnyconnellen
Enjoy fresh, flavoursome, local produce, in a beautiful setting that nature has provided us sharing stories from our paddock to your plate.
The history of “Bunnyconnellen”
Originally selected for dairying in 1878 when the area was resumed from Gowrie sheep station, “Hillview” was taken up by Frederick and Carolyn Swain, whose family worked the farm for around 60 years. Littletons, Pukallis’s, and Roberts families continued dairying until the mid 1990’s, when the property was purchased by the Simmonds. Olive trees and wine grapes were then planted and the name changed to “Bunnyconnellen”, marking the change of use. Today, Bunnyconnellen’s tranquility offers visitors a truly relaxing experience.
