Watercolour Workshop With Jane Blundell

03-Jan-2016

Saturday and Sunday, 12/13 march 2016

Whether you are new to watercolour or have been on the watercolour journey for some time but are looking for a more comprehensive study of this fascinating medium, this weekend Watercolour Workshop is for you. Day one will suit absolute beginners through to intermediate - don't worry however if you feel you are more advanced, Jane will have something for the more skilled also.  The second day will also be busy and consist an introduction to a range of subjects painted en plein air at Bunnyconnellen.

Jane Blundell has been painting in watercolour for over 35 years and is a professional artist and teacher and a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute. She is a passionate sketcher and while she works in all mediums her favourite is watercolour. She paints anything – urban landscapes, flowers, rocks, people, still life, whatever – usually from life. Her understanding of colour and pigments is based on years of personal research and exploration, and can be seen in her two self-published books: Watercolour Mixing Charts and The Ultimate Mixing Palette: a World of Colour.

Join us at our rustic cellar door the ‘Who’d Have Thought It’ and enjoy this informative, but relaxed weekend watercolour workshop.   The workshop can be booked as a whole or each day taken separately, we are however limited to 15 guests each day.

Day One – Saturday, 12 March

9am – Welcome to Bunnyconnellen: You will be welcomed by Jane Blundell and Janie with a nourishing cup of tea or coffee and something sweet.

9.30am – 5pm: Beginners and intermediates. We will work from the ground up, setting up palettes and equipment through to building skills and understanding colour mixing, simple colour wheels, limited palette studies, washes, sketching with watercolour, still life, special effects in watercolour and so much more - see more information at Jane's 'Getting Started In Watercolours - Starting Small' blog. We will break for a simple, home grown and cooked, Nigel Slater inspired two course luncheon. Take a while to chat and swap tales of sketches missed!

Day Two – Sunday, 13 March

9am – Arrive Bunnyconnellen: Once again you will be welcomed by Jane Blundell and Janie with a nourishing cup of tea or coffee and something sweet. Introductions to workshop newcomers.
