Cellar Door bookings

Want somewhere different for a small wedding, informal get together or event? If so our Cellar Door is the place for you. We can seat up to 40 or 50 standing at any one time. Our venue is purposefully rustic and is contained within an old converted farm building (Bunnyconnellen was, for many years a dairy farm) so no 'bling' but lots of character. For more wedding information click here or call Janie on 07 46979555.

Our venue has a commercial kitchen (and more importantly for me a commercial dishwasher called 'Bart') plus access to our preferred caterer Olga Hansen of Gypsy Gourmet, Toowoomba. See www.gypsygourmet.com.au for more details and check out our chalk board menu for menu inspiration.

Recipes

Bunnyconnellen have recipes available that complement the wines and products available at the Cellar Door, good delicatessens and restaurants.

Jenny Foxton - First Featured Artist

Toowoomba artist Jenny Foxton describes herself as a part-time art ‘dabbler'. Her first foray into exhibiting was at the inaugural Hampton High Country Food & Arts Festival in 2003.
Jenny’s interest in art began in secondary school but her training since then has been mainly through a number of short courses in watercolours and acrylics. Her subject matter has mainly been still life and landscapes with particular emphasis on objects of nature and the patterns found therein.

Jenny has moved from more traditional watercolours to larger and slightly more abstract acrylic canvases but her style could best be described as semi-realism. With no formal art training, Jenny has exhibited in a number of small art shows in Brisbane and regional Queensland. She has taken out some minor awards at the Mitchell and Linville art shows. In 2008 she was awarded ‘Work of the Show’ at the Hampton Art Show.

Dale Bullock - Second Featured Artist

Queensland artist Dale Bullock expressed a fascination with sketching and painting from a very early age and began formal art lessons from the age of 8. She has exhibited in numerous art shows and The Australian Artist magazine featured a 6 page article on Dale and her paintings in 1997 and again in their commemorative issue of February 2001.

Her oil paintings on canvas are unique in their use of texture and vivid colour creating a three dimensional and tactile effect for the viewer. Dale has drawn on her extensive travels throughout Europe and Northern Africa for the inspiration behind her paintings. Her French provincial and Italian Rivera scenes reflect the ambiance and character of these places. See www.dalebullock.com for more examples of her work.

Anne Flint-Forrester Radcliffe - Our Newest Featured Artist

Painting is my thread- it weaves my life's path.  The life that I have lived is recorded in my work.  To date my most productive period was in London, where for many years I exhibited in the many Open Exhibitions which were available. I studied there in both oil and watercolour painting.  Having moved to Australia I began to experiment with Acrylic paints.  Which I have found are very suited to the lively and vibrant Australian light. I  look forward to a thrilling continuation of my focus on even more stimulating sights around this wonderful country.  This exhibition is the result of  a year of work and encompasses not only places that I have been to in Europe but also locally here in Queensland.

Janie Simmonds - Resident Featured Artist & Yoga Teacher

Janie has been dabbling for some time and recently undertook a series of sketch classes by Nic Costa of the Tekni Art School Paphos, whilst holidaying in Cyprus. Taken by his work and philosophy she hopes to encourage other 'would be' artists to network and utilise some of the venues Nic offers through his contacts across the world and at Bunnyconnellen.

Nic Costa, the principle, studied fine art at Maidstone, Ravensbourne, and the Royal College of Art. His career has seen him working as an Experimental Filmmaker, Freelance writer and Antique Dealer. In the mid 90's he returned to the arts when he became a full time artist and art lecturer. In 2002 he relocated to Cyprus where he founded the tekniart School in Paphos. In May 2006 he took part in master classes given by Professor Vladimir Mogilevtsev of the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in St Petersburg.
